Yung Kee Restaurant, located
in Hong Kong, has been consistently ranked as
one of the top restaurants in the world. Last
year represented the 60th anniversary of "Yung
Kee Restaurant". More than half a century
ago, it was a modest cooked food stall in Kwong
Yuen West Street. Its founder, Mr. Kam Shui Fai
was renowned for his Roast Goose. So even tourists
and crewmen flocked in groups to savour the specialty
from Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal. Yung Kee
Restaurant acquired fame for its gourmet specialty-Roast
Goose. It became well known among people in Guangdong,
Hong Kong and Macau, and it also attracts thousands
tourists from foreign countries. Yung Kee Restaurant
also completed a one-year successful partnership
with Cathay Pacific late last year.
Rated as one of the top 15 restaurants in the
world, Yung Kee Restaurant wanted to create a
promotional website for its 60th Anniversary celebrations
in November 2002. The main objectives were to
promote Yung Kee’s book, “60 Years
of Yung Kee,” their alliance with Cathay
Pacific and their ongoing dedication to Po Leung
Kuk Charity in Hong Kong.

4AM Group worked with Yung Kee Restaurant to develop
a global website that catered to a worldwide audience.
The site was designed in three languages: English,
Chinese and Japanese. Three main sections detailed
the important and significant aspects of the anniversary.
A brief promotional summary of Yung Kee’s
book gave a reflection of the restaurant’s
historic past. The Cathay Pacific section detailed
Yung Kee’s alliance with the top airline
in the world. Yung Kee’s strong desire to
donate time and money to Po Leung Kuk Charity
was also presented in the website.
Launch of the 60th Anniversary site came under
rave reviews in Asia, especially in Hong Kong,
China and Japan. In addition, global internet
visitors have increased immensely. The creation
of a contemporary site based on visual graphics
has greatly increased usability, interactivity
and user friendliness.
